Cependant sa correspondance r\u00e9v\u00e8le de nombreuses lettres o\u00f9 il en est question. Le peintre normand a 19&nbsp;ans lors de \u00ab&nbsp;la divulgation de l\u2019h\u00e9liographie&nbsp;\u00bb. Les d\u00e9veloppements techniques se multiplient au cours de sa vie alors que l\u2019artiste en per\u00e7oit finement la nature et les enjeux. Millet n\u2019a jamais pratiqu\u00e9 la photographie, mais on d\u00e9couvre, \u00e0 travers ses \u00e9changes \u00e9pistolaires, qu\u2019il collectionne des tirages afin d\u2019int\u00e9grer la reproduction photographique dans la strat\u00e9gie de diffusion de son \u0153uvre. Il pose aussi devant les appareils de ses amis ou de photographes c\u00e9l\u00e8bres. \u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence d\u2019un Delacroix, Millet ne semble pas avoir cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 substituer des \u00e9preuves au mod\u00e8le vivant, mais, plus surprenant, il adapte parfois sa fa\u00e7on de peindre aux exigences des prises de vue.
